Ecuador: Mobilising Communities Against Malaria

The four-year project, supported by the Global Fund, sees Kimirina working together with the Ministry of Public Health. Together they have achieved transformative results across the country in the first two years of the project. In 2010, malaria was present in 22 of 24 departments in Ecuador. In 2011, the number of reported cases of malaria decreased by 35% and the majority of cases of malaria are concentrated in only 10 departments.

Protecting EU Aid will protect the health of the poor AND makes economic sense

Results or Rhetoric: What you didn’t know about Europe’s Aid for Health: 2012 Report

At Action for Global Health we believe that everyone has the right to access healthcare without the threat of financial hardship, no matter where they are born or where they live. That is why several months ago we and the Medical Mission Institute (MMI) began rigorous new research into Official Development Assistance (ODA) for health to examine what the real picture is. The resulting research is being launched today (Wednesday 14th November) at the European Parliament in a report entitled Results or Rhetoric: What you didn’t know about Europe’s Aid for Health.
