Dear friends,

We are pleased to introduce to you Samuel Kargbo, Director of the Reproductive and Child Health Services unit of Sierra Leone's Ministry of Health. He was one of the main architects of Sierra Leone's plan to introduce free health care for pregnant women and children under five, which was launched in April 2010. His work has helped to change the lives of millions of women and children in Sierra Leone who now have access to the health services they so desperately need.

Meet Samuel on our blog!

Samuel, together with Malawian Marta Kwataine, is one of the "health heroes" working with the AfGH team during the MDG Summit. Samuel will come to New York to share Sierra Leone's experience in removing user fees, to inspire other African Governments by example and to drum up more donor support for the abolition of user fees in those countries which are willing to do it.

Follow our live updates on the AfGH blog and participate in the debate.
